Hey gang,
Do you want more readers for your blog? If so, I have a helpful tip to share. I have been off researching all the hottest websites, trying to learn what exactly they are doing right. Well, One of the things they do is apply to the Open Web Directory at DMOZ.
It is apparently a rather coveted thing to be accepted by DMOZ. Some folks wait several years before being accepted, and others never get accepted at all. The good news is, if you have a great site with good content, and stick to a subject matter that is not already over saturated, you might just find yourself accepted overnight.
It only takes a few minutes to apply, and is well worth it. Once your site is listed, it gets pumped out to all the major search engines on a regular basis and will drive tons of new traffic your way.
So give it a shot...we could all use a few thousand new friends.

One of the things we do to get more readers is provide great blogrolls. You are certainly doing that, Kelley. And thank you for including my Writer's Digest 101 Best Website blog, www.sharingwithwriters.blogspot.com.

That's a good poinnt Carolyn. Blogrolls and backlinks are very important and vital to community building, which is what it's all about.
On my Applesassy blog I am working on creating a blogroll page that allows readers to "opt-in" to he blog roll. In others words, instead of me picking and choosing, the readers can add their sites at will.
Check out Chrisbrogan.com and look at his Rock Stars page. That's where I got the idea.

Getting known for something: the CWG article suggests to share if you have a unique conversion story or a unique perspective. I guess the fact that I have same-sex-attraction, am Christian, and believe in chastity as a solution rather than jumping on the Gay marriage bandwagon makes me unique. Don't know if that will help me gain readers or repel them, though.
