Mr. Squeaks

We lost a member of our little family today. Mr. Squeaks went off to rat heaven. Thankfully, he crossed over while the kids were in school.

We had a little funeral when they got home, and buried him in our pet cemetery by the stream, at the edge of the woods. All our pets are buried there. We have a concrete meditation bench and two stone lions guarding the space with quiet dignity. Tulip bulbs are planted on every grave.

Each spring when the flowers bloom, we know our furry family members send us their love.

At first I felt disappointed that there was no photo of this cemetery, but in this highly stimulated world of ours we sometimes forget that some things are sacred. The timing of this post is perfect for me. We lost a pet mouse yesterday and today our dog was killed by another dog. I was already bent out of shape over the mouse, but by now I can barely function. I wrote a post about it tonight. Thank you for the idea- I hadn't decided what to do with our dog's body.

Hugs,
Betty

Dear Betty,
I am so sorry about your loss. Two in a row has got to be weighing down your heart.

Im sorry about not posting a photo, but it was not a good time for photo blogging. Maybe later.
