Thought for today

"No woman can call herself free who does not own and control her own body."

Damn straight. You know, some women may have been brought up to depend on others emotionally, physically and/or spiritually. (Which I think that's a horrible way to grow someone up, male or female.) So in some cases where you see women with abusive husbands and stuff, it can be harder for them to learn to become independent.

So yeah, that's what that quote reminded me of.

boring... *zzzzzzz* what a snoozefest. What the hell does it mean to 'control your own body' anyway? To kill parasitic cells who develop and become actual living, breathing human beings, just because it's inconvienent? If you ask me, if a woman has control over her own body, it means not letting some asshole guy stick his pecker there in the first place. Thats what control over your own body is. Not killing annoyances.

Interesting that "Anoymous" jumped to the conclusion that this quote refered to reproductive control.

Personally, I feel that the statment is much broader than that.

In many parts of the world women are subjected to torture, their genitals are mutilated, they are repressed by laws that allow their husbands to confine them and even kill them.

There is no place on this planet where women are affored the same human rights as males, even in the USA. (ever hear of the glass ceiling?)

But, great strides have been made, and the women who do have a degree of liberation must value what they have, and help those who have not.

Lets hope that all the folks who share the viewpoint of "Anonymous" keep on snoozin' and stay out of the way.
